General Electric has issued a recall of roughly 92,000 built-in combination wall and microwave ovens. The reason the corporation is recalling the product is that they may pose a fire hazard to consumers. Specifically, the recall includes built-in Combination Wall and Microwave Ovens that was sold in stores between January 2000 and December 2003. These built in wall ovens and microwave units were sold under the brand names GE, GE Profile™ and Kenmore.
According to a press release, there have been 35 incidents of minor property damage and one incident in which a fire damaged adjacent kitchen cabinets. Although no injuries have occurred, General Electric have instructed consumers to stop using the recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
