This gets stranger by the moment. According to a report from the AOL entertainment website TMZ.Com one of the girls accused of beating Victoria Lindsay, a young woman named Mercades Nichols (Pronounced Mercedes), has been bailed out of jail by a producer from the Dr. Phil show. It looks like we have learned nothing from the whole Britney Spears fiasco over at the Dr. Phil show.
The bulb dimmed on the good doctor when he got involved with the Spears family trauma when Britney was on 5150 lockdown and Dr. Phil tried to intervene as the request of Lynne Spears. (There was speculation that Jamie Lynn Spears) and the whole family was set for an intervention type show for Britney). That was a nightmare and this has the same potential to be a very odd move that will likely be criticized. *** A video is linked here that shows the initial beating and has all of the background to the story of the attack on the teen. It has been played over and over on cable news and people are outraged. The new video that shows the young woman being sprung from jail by a man that is identified as a producer on the Dr. Phil show is here. He appears to try to tell the other news networks involved that she is not allowed to talk as he has "exclusivity" of the girl. The bail was reportedly set at $33,000. There is also a gag order in the case, so it seems foolish to try to put her on air. It is hard to see where Dr. Phil might try to go with this as few will likely side with Mercades Nichols or her publicity seeking mother. Dr. Phil blames the "staff member' and says that he went beyond their guidelines and that there will be no televised show featuring Mercades Nichols. So why was her bail paid for again?
