Syesha Mercado is back in her hometown of Sarasota on Friday as she has taken her trip out of Hollywood to return home and she is revealing some of the secrets she uses to keep her on American idol. The adorable "last woman standing" uses all of the good luck charms and superstitions she can and it has worked so far as she has made the top three on American idol.

Her first good luck charm was working well, but it was lost. According to a report from People Magazine, a quartz stone a woman in South Beach gave her disappeared soon after Mercado, 21, made the Top 24. "Even if I found it, it wouldn't be valuable anymore because you're not supposed to let anybody touch it," she says. "Now my ritual is to call my sister before every show and pray."

Prayer is always a good idea. Her fiancé is there for support as well. Hess Wesley, 25, "graduated from college last week, on the night of the performance show. He bought a one-way ticket, and he's here 'til whenever, you know?" He, her mom and sisters "tell me no matter what, we're proud of you."
Syesha also reveals that her mom gave her the Oprah-endorsed Eckhart Tolle book early in the competition, when "I didn't feel comfortable onstage and put myself in a shell," she says, "It helped me release all of that negative energy." More American idol coverage is here. All three finalists are back in there hometowns this weekend.
