Can Selena Gomez avoid the pitfalls of Miley Cyrus? The Texas teen (and Barney alum!) has been dubbed the next Miley Cyrus / Hannah Montana like star for Disney and she has arrived and now she and her parents will take on the challenges of fame, People Magazine reports in this week's issue.

Miley Cyrus is in such a funk she can't even take what should be an innocent "Got Milk' ad without raising a controversy. Critics have said that her latest ad for the camping shows Miley is tight white tank top with a milk moustache as too sexy. The snap would not have raised controversy, but with her earlier racy photos scandal Miley is now being examined very closely.

And that is what Selena can expect. And mom and dad are ready. According to People, mom Mandy Teefey says she keeps her rising star grounded and she has a midnight curfew or earlier for Selena. On her chores she has to do her own laundry. Mom says, "If she cooks, I clean. If I cook, she cleans. She has to help feed the dogs. There are really no set chores. We just all pitch in when needed."

On the curfew mom says it depends on who she is with and where they are going, but 90 percent of the time it's 11:30 p.m. She never goes to movie premieres, wrap parties or anything related to the business without a parent. Period. That rule is not changing until she is 21!
