Maureen Dowd isn't a big fan of John McCain anymore. The liberal columnist for what many believe is the official newspaper of the Barack Obama campaign has been shown the door on the campaign plane of John McCain. Don't worry, it's not like they shoved her out at 37,000 feet, according to an e-mail from Dowd to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette they just won't let her on the campaign planes.

I would usually side with Dowd on this as banning members of the press seems a bit much but after discovering that the moderator for the Biden-Palin debate (Gwen Ifill) is in the tank it might have been a good move by McCain. Gwen Ifill has a book coming out on the day of the inauguration that touts the "Age of Obama."

Wait - what? That's right, the same woman that is supposed to be a moderator for the vice presidential between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden debate that delivers fair questions and gives both candidates a chance to answer is in the tank for Barack Obama. World Net Daily first delivered the report and late Monday night and the Drudge Report picked it up and has it running at the top of the page.

This is simple; Ifill needs Obama (and Joe Biden) to win to sell her book. If Obama is attending the inauguration of John McCain a book touting the junior senator from Illinois won't sell quite as well a book about the first black president of the United States. For Ifill not to reveal her bias herself shows she is unworthy of ever being allowed to host any type of debate that would have anything to do with Barack Obama. If she cared about her reputation she would step down.
