Referendum 71 has passed by a slim margin in Washington State.   Referred to at times as "the other gay-rights amendment" a Wiki article notes that polling showed a wider margin than the actual tally that is projected.  The measure is said to pass to by about four points.

The entry notes that an October 2009 poll by Survey USA, funded by KING-TV in Seattle showed that 50% of the 561 likely voters polled would vote for the measure while 43% would reject it, 7% unsure.

Sarah Kliff of Newsweek has an interesting item here (with comments) and writes, "If Referendum 71 does indeed pass, some will write off its success as uninteresting. This is, after all, liberal Washington state that we are talking about; of course a gay-equality referendum will pass. Moreover, Referendum 71 does not reach for gay marriage, but just gay equality."

Non-partisan Washington Poll predicts that proponents of Referendum 71 will also extend their lead, suggesting a final count of 52% in favor with 48% against.
