American Chopper has run out of gas. The show that featured Orange County Choppers founder Paul Teutul Sr., and his son Paul Jr. and others that surrounded the business have joined "Jon and Kate Plus 8" on the scrap heap of Reality TV.
Paul Teutul Sr. of American Chopper Will Wave Good-Bye to Show.
In the final episode Thursday, the shop builds a special bike for Kobalt and Junior will make a "truly life changing announcement," according to the TLC Web site.

The series premiered on Discovery in 2003 before ultimately moving to TLC. In a statement the network said: "The Teutuls will always be a part of the Discovery family and we congratulate them on a tremendously successful series run."
E Canada Now notes that "while Teutul Sr. had thought the show would last another few years, family dramas have cut the series short." The website has more details of the court filings and some of the behind the scene activities that are said to have pushed the show off the air.
