Save the cheerleader or something like that. Us Weekly Magazine has a few of the secrets and hints of the upcoming season of NBC's smash hit "Heroes." The magazine notes that at the end of last season, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) saved Claire (Hayden Panettiere) from evil Sylar (Zachary Quinto), only to seemingly meet death with brother Nathan (Adrian Pasdar).

Meanwhile, Hiro (Masi Oka) got transported to 1671 Japan. Now, Peter Nathan and Sylar are back (natch)! The action picks up four months later "with these extraordinary people trying to be ordinary," creator Tim Kring tells Us Weekly. "There is going to be a really interesting channel of communication between us," cast member James Kyson Lee, who plays Hiro's sidekick Ando Masahash tells The Associated Press. "How that's going to happen, you'll have to find out on the 24th. But it will be a fascinating way of storytelling. And what happens in one timeline will affect the other," he says.

Claire must blend in at a new high school, where "she's a prime candidate for romance," he says. Hiro clashes with a legendary samurai (David Anders). Newbies include Elle (Kristen Bell), who has ties to Peter; Monica (Dana Davis), a Big Easy avenger; and Maya (Dania Ramirez), who has a dark power.
Fox News had this earlier: Noah Gray-Cabey, who plays the precocious son of good/evil single mom Niki (Ali Larter), hints at bigger things for his character."I'll say that Micah is definitely stepping out of his comfort zone," he tells the AP. "And he's going to be meeting some new people, possibly even family."

'A new character named Maya (Dania Ramirez) struggles with a developing power. Sound familiar? "I have a brother, Alejandro, and we're coming to the U.S. to try to find out what's going on with me," Ramirez says. "I don't fully understand what's happening to me. However, my ability has me on the run."
The series begins again on September 24.
