The film ‘Brokeback Mountain’ has gossips and entertainment watchers buzzing about gay cowboys.  Country star Kenny Chesney would just as soon be left out of that comparison.

Kenny says: 'I'm not gay.'
Kenny says: 'I'm not gay.'

According to published reports – his break up and super short marriage with actress Renée Zellweger has led to repeated rumors that Kenny Chesney is gay.

He’s trying to put a stop to that talk and despite the accusations being untrue, the allegations left deeply Chesney hurt, according to Contact Music UK.

He says that gossips have:

“Done nothing short of calling me gay and (Renee) a whore. None of those things are true. I'm pretty firm in my sexuality and my love for women."

Translation:  “I’m no gay cowboy."

He tells People Magazine, "My life has been sort of road kill, like barely scraping the bodies off the sidewalk. I mean, you wake up after a decade with someone and you're single again and alone again. You thought you had a plan, and the plan got derailed."

A decade?

The gang at Jossip concludes:

Got it: Kenny Chesney isn't gay; he just plays one on stage.

Ouch.
