Jessica Simpson Hires Divorce Lawyers, Report

Maybe it really is over.  It is now being reported that blonde bombshell Jessica Simpson has hired a team of attorneys specifically to handle her possible divorce from hubby Nick Lachey.

Web site TMZ is reporting that Jess has retained celebrity powerhouse divorce lawyers Robert Kaufman and Lance Spiegel specifically to end her marriage," reads an item on the web site.

Nick Lachey has countered with uber-celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser.

Wasser has reportedly represented Angelina Jolie, Denise Richards, Stevie Wonder, Kiefer Sutherland and Spike Jonze in his divorce from Sofia Coppola.

Nick has decided that he will not file for divorce, according to the report, instead he will lay low and allow Jessica to make the first move.

And its still unclear if Jessica is ready to file as well, she may just be anticipating and getting her legal representation ready in case of a fight.

Neither Jess or Nick have spoken publicly on the split to the point where they have mentioned any divorce. 

The couple have no prenuptial agreement and as Jess is the principal bread winner, she could wind up paying alimony for up to 18 months.
