Tom Cruise on Katie Holmes: 'We Got Married Last Night'

Tom Cruise may be getting tired of the 'when are you going to make the fabulous Katie Holmes an honest woman' questions.

The 'War of the Worlds' star was hounded in New York this weekend and pelted with questions.

As New York fans mobbed Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes on Friday, the superstar actor appeared to put one huge rumor to rest. When a reporter asked if the pair planned to wed this weekend, Cruise responded, "We got married last night. You missed it."

So did Tom and Katie really tie the knot in a secret ceremony?

Extra says no.

He was indeed spotted in Miami on stage Jada Pinkett-Smith and husband Will Smith at Miami's Jingle Ball concert.  The pair were on what seemed like a several city tour to celebrate Kate's 27th birthday.

We've received several e-mails here about the rumors as well, one citing a "friend" that works on the Cayman Islands and said "Katie and Tommy boy got married at the Ritz this past weekend."

It still appears the pair won't get married until sometime in 2006 after Katie has her baby.
