It appears that the Cindy Sheehan vigil in Crawford Texas may be too much for her husband Patrick Sheehan to bear. Her husband has filed for a divorce. The petition cites "irreconcilable differences" for the demise of the couple's 28-year marriage.
The Smoking Gun reports that the couple has been separated since June 1 and has a copy of Patrick Sheehan's complaint posted on the web site.
The UK Times reports that within a week of setting up what Cindy Sheehan is now calling "Camp Casey" she had already given more than 100 media interviews, calling for US troops to be withdrawn from Iraq.
The paper reports that last Friday he lodged a divorce petition at Solano County court, northeast of San Francisco. They report that his lawyer did not immediately return calls asking for comment.
Mrs. Sheehan says that the stress of the death had already led the couple, who were high school sweethearts, to separate. She admits that he does not agree with the "level of intensity" she has devoted to peace in the past year.
She was asked on MSNBC on Monday night to talk about her husband's feelings but declined comment.
