Though earlier reports predicted that the process would take months Superior Court Judge Linda Lefkowitz approved the motion during a closed hearing about a month after lawyers for Jolie filed the paperwork.
Next is Marriage?
E! reports that when asked by reporters when Jolie and Pitt were going to marry, Spiegel said he'd said all he was going to say.
4-year old Maddox is originally from Cambodia, and was adopted by Jolie in 2002 near the end of her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton.
One-year old Zahara is an AIDS orphaned baby and was originally from Ethiopia. She was adopted by Jolie last year during the early days of her unconfirmed romance with Pitt.
The Pitt-Jolie gang is now officially at four and a half.
