The angry left detests conservative Democrat Joe Lieberman. But a recent poll shows that their anger may want to be channeled in another direction as the incumbent is coasting towards re-election in 2006.

The bitter folks from the fringe have rallied behind a Democrat named Ned Lamont in the hopes of taking out Joe Lieberman in a primary.
Good luck, Lieberman has a 55-point lead according to this poll.
Quinnipiac University Poll:
U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman gets a 63 - 25 percent approval, unchanged from January 11. By a 63 - 26 percent margin, including 69 percent of Republicans, Connecticut voters say Sen. Lieberman deserves to be reelected.
Lieberman would defeat former Gov. Lowell Weicker 62 - 21 percent.
In a possible Democratic primary, the incumbent beats businessman Ned Lamont 68 - 13 percent.
"Liberal Democrats unhappy with Sen. Lieberman's position on the war can't find much good news in this poll.
While Lieberman continues to be more popular with Republicans, he still enjoys a job approval rating of nearly 2-1 among Democrats, and 61 percent of Democrats think he deserves to be re-elected," Dr. Schwartz said.

This is very good news for the nation's security.
