It was indeed ironic when the tangled up mess of Tom Cruise and the fabulous Katie Holmes were in the same hospital having a baby with the very classy Brooke Shields and hubby Chris Henchy on the same day.

And it appears something good may come of it for the new families.
Brooke quickly extended an olive branch to the couple and apparently it was accepted as a report claims that Cruise has moved to end his public feud with new mother Brooke by sending her a basket of baby gifts.

Contact Music UK quotes Cruise, "We sent her a gift and I'm really happy for her... We sent her a basket." And Shields insists she'll accept the gift as a token of renewed friendship: "I haven't received it yet but that's awfully kind of him."
Aww.

Reports have already stated that Brooke quickly sent an arrangement of pink and yellow roses to the MI: 3 star and fiancée Katie Holmes with a sweet card.
Mike Walker had that scoop and writes that the card read:
"At times like this, when you have so much to be thankful for, I would like to personally welcome your daughter Suri into the world, and congratulate you both."
