American Idol bad boy Simon Cowell has missed quite a few predictions this year and apparently he is through making forecasts on a winner.   The Brit refuses to try and make a choice between the three remaining contestants Katharine McPhee, Taylor Hicks and Elliott Yamin.

Extra noted on their Thursday night show that Simon now admits there are no favorites. “The funny thing about this show is when someone goes, you never know where their votes are going to go,” Simon confessed.

“I genuinely don't know who is going to win.”

Idol Shock:

People Magazine reports it wasn't only the audience that was stunned by rocker Chris Daughtry's exit from American Idol on Wednesday: Chris himself was "shocked."

From the People web site:

"It was definitely a gut-wrenching moment," he said Thursday. "I wasn't expecting it, not even a little bit."

If fact, the singer said he thought Ryan Seacrest, who abruptly announced that Daughtry had been cut, was kidding. "I thought he was building it up to be like people thought I was going home and then say, 'Chris you can sit down.' I thought there was going to be some sort of 'just kidding' factor there."

After receiving so much praise from the judges and fans during the competition, Daughtry said it's hard to imagine not being the next American Idol.

People has an online poll here that asks "Who really deserved to be voted off?"

At this time the numbers are:

Katharine McPhee--------65%
Elliott Yamin---------------17%
Taylor Hicks----------------14%
Chris Daughtry-------------4%

But no matter Chris is done.  But the rocker has already received an offer from the rock band 'Fuel' to front the band.
