American Idol Elimination: And Then There Were Two

American Idol has proven to be quite the mystery this season.  Few picked these exact three to still be on the stage at this juncture.  There has been quite a few surprises along the way and all three performed fairly well on Tuesday night.

The show is a full hour tonight and my first blackberry report (yes I’m still in Las Vegas and am relying on mail reports until it airs here in the desert) says that Ace Young and Kellie Pickler are in the audience tonight.

Taylor is still in at the 1:2 favorite here in sin city, Kat is 8:5 and Elliott is the 8:1 longshot.  A new report says that the vote was so close that the program had to wait until Hawaii voted to determine which contestant would go home.

33.06 percent.

33.26 percent

33.68 percent.

Those are the voting percentages. That's how close this thing was according to initial reports.  50 million votes were cast.

My blackberry says - the person with the lowest number of votes is Elliott Yamin.

No surprise there and we have a male vs. female final.

Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks survive.  It should be a great final.
