DEAR STACY: What has David Bowie been up to lately? -- Lee J., Bayside, Queens, N.Y.

DEAR LEE: As usual, Bowie's been busy. He lent his voice to a song ("Province") on the recently released Interscope album by cutting-edge New York rockers TV on the Radio, and he plays Nikola Tesla in the upcoming Touchstone Pictures feature "The Prestige," which he recently completed filming in Los Angeles. The yet-to-be-scheduled movie has Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as magicians in London at the turn of the last century. Their competition becomes so intense, it turns deadly. Also in the cast are Michael Caine and Scarlett Johannson.

DEAR STACY: Is Kate Walsh of "Grey's Anatomy" the actress who played on "The Drew Carey Show" back some years ago as Drew's girlfriend who got enormously fat? I'd like to prove I am right to some friends. -- Rob C., New York

DEAR ROB: You are correct.

Lean and beautiful at 5-foot-10, Walsh donned progressively bigger fat prosthetics for her role as Nicki Fifer in the 1997-1998 season of "The Drew Carey Show."

She has said that initially she found it fun to do the realistic-looking TV magic weight gain, but the process became more difficult as the fat suit became larger and more cumbersome, episode after episode, and the facial prosthetics around her chin grew larger and more restrictive.

DEAR STACY: We "High School Musical" fans want to know, did Zac Efron sing in the movie, or did someone else sing for him? -- Teri W., Springfield, Mass.

DEAR TERI: Both. Singer Andrew Seeley provided some of the vocals for Efron's "High School" character. Efron, who performed in West Coast productions of such musicals as "Little Shop of Horrors," "Peter Pan" and "The Music Man" as a youngster, also did some of his own singing in the hit telepic -- for which Disney has announced there will be a sequel in 2008.

DEAR STACY: Will there be more episodes of "Celebrity Cooking Showdown"? -- K.T., Canton, Ohio

DEAR K.T.: Considering the P.Diddy-produced show pulled some of the lowest ratings that NBC has experienced this season -- to the point the network pulled the final two nights of the show out of their originally scheduled weeknight timeslots -- it's doubtful. On top of that, the show was resoundingly panned by critics and mocked even by the network's own Jay Leno.

DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Cynthia Daniel, who played Elizabeth Wakefield on "Sweet Valley High"? I've seen her sister Brittany, but not her. -- Jamie G., Cleveland

DEAR JAMIE: Cynthia, who gave birth to her and actor Cole Hauser's son Ryland in 2004, is a talented photographer who has been pursuing a career in that field. (She and Hauser are no longer together.) Her most recent appearances were in a 2002 episode of "That '80s Show" and, along with twin Brittany, in Leonardo DiCaprio's 1995 feature, "The Basketball Diaries."

DEAR STACY: Can you tell me whether Justin Chambers of "Grey's Anatomy" is married and has children? -- Tiffany B., Austin, Texas

DEAR TIFFANY: Yes and yes. Chambers and wife Keisha have five children.

DEAR STACY: Can you give some background on Ryan Sypek, the hottie who plays Junior Davis on ABC Family's "Wildfire" show? -- F.T., Brooklyn, N.Y.

DEAR F.T.: Not all that long ago, the handsome 6-foot, 23-year-old was parking cars at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel. However, he'd already completed an impressive education, having earned his degree in fine arts at Boston University, and having spent a semester at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. "Wildfire" marks his TV series debut, but he has performed in plays from "The Rose Tattoo" to "The Merchant of Venice." He now divides his time between home in Los Angeles and Albuquerque, N.M., where "Wildfire" is shot.
