The rocker will join fellow American Idol contestants – winner Taylor Hicks and runner-up Katharine McPhee – that have already signed similar deals with 19 Recordings and Davis, who launched the careers of Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and many others.
According to a statement by RCA, Daughtry will form a band and "has already begun to work with A-list collaborators" to write and record new material.

Daughtry's elimination was seen as the stunner of the American idol season as many believed that he would make it to the finals and go head-to-head with eventual winner Taylor Hicks.
But right after he was dumped by Idol voters he made headlines when multi-platinum rock band Fuel offered him a job on Extra TV.

Obviously - Daughtry has decided to go another route and many belueve that he may bbe the superstar of this season despite his surprising elimination.
