Britney Spears gave birth at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles to a healthy baby boy. She has reportedly named the child Sean Preston Spears Federline.
Spears and husband Kevin Federline said: "We are ecstatic to announce the birth of our son! Everyone is happy, healthy and doing wonderful. Thank you all for your love and well wishes!"
Now the question, which outlet gets the first picture of baby Spears Federline? Or will Brit release the first photos?
ABC News:
If you thought celebrity magazines went gaga publishing pictures of a barefoot Britney Spears emerging from a gas station bathroom, just wait until the paparazzi take aim at her new baby.
"The shot's huge," entertainment photographer Ben Presnell told ABC News Radio. "That's exactly what we want to have. We want to be able to broadcast it first."
USA Today:
Expect to see baby snaps of the youngest Federline progeny sooner rather than later, predicts Us Weekly's Janice Min. The average hospital stay after a C-section delivery is two to four days.
We already know that the singer is hardly press-shy — she featured her wedding and baby shower photos in People magazine.
Says Min: "The risk here is that another photographer gets a picture of her pushing her stroller down the street in L.A. and that undercuts the value of the official photo."
How much?
Some estimates have the first released photo of Sean Preston Spears Federline to fetch upwards of a million dollars. (I'm guessing that and more.)
But if Brit and Kevin release photos first, that amount, as Janice Min pointed out, will drop substantially.
This is the first child for Spears. Federline has two children, Kori, 3, and Kaleb, 1, from a previous relationship with actress Shar Jackson.
