The gossip will likely never die down about a rift between pop stars Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. In August Christina reportedly made mention of how Brit had let herself go and according to the report, doubted that she would "ever be a pop star again."
Christina later denied ever dissing Britney and said the entire feud is fabricated.
"It's really sad to see that some tabloid magazines still have to manufacture ill will between Britney and me," Aguilera wrote in a statement posted on her Web site.
"We are both grown-ups and have the utmost respect for each other personally and professionally. If certain journalists want to throw their integrity out the window by spreading false information, then so be it. But I'm not falling for their lies and neither should my fans or Britney's."
A new report sure sounds like they are grown ups.
It says that Christina is thrilled for Britney and her baby. She tells MTV News: "My assistant came in the room when it happened and she's like, 'Britney had a boy!' and I was like, 'Oh my gosh!'
"I don't know where I was for a while when she was pregnant but it really kicked in at that point. It's like: 'Wow, she had a baby! That's crazy!'
"I'm overjoyed and thrilled for her. It's such an exciting time in her life and I just wish her the best."
Aguilera also noted that she has already sent Brit a baby gift and a card.
