DiCaprio '11th Hour' Global Warming Film Silences Opposition View

Leonardo DiCaprio has had it with those who have an opposition viewpoint on global warming.  DiCaprio, who was spotted on the stage at the Academy Awards this year clowning around with global warming guru Al Gore, wants dissent squelched on the subject.  Sounding a bit like the Weather Channel's Heidi Cullen, DiCaprio has said that he wants no opposition view when it comes to his latest film effort that highlight global warming.  Recall that Cullen, the Weather Channel’s climate expert, earlier stated that the American Meteorological Society should revoke its "seal of approval" from any television meteorologist who does not believe in man made global warming.

Now Leo has that same attitude as he wishes to make certain his latest effort offers no opposing viewpoint.  According to a report in the New York Daily News DiCaprio says that has heard enough bilge from oil-company apologists.

At last week's Natural Resources Defense Council gala in Gotham, the three-time Oscar nominee recalled taking part in an ABC film a few years ago that focused on threats to the Earth. "Unfortunately, the message was drowned out by the inclusion of the contrary viewpoint," said DiCaprio, who narrated and co-wrote the forthcoming environmental doc "The 11th Hour."

DiCaprio said this film focuses only on those who acknowledge global warming, such as Stephen Hawking, Mikhail Gorbachev and Andrew Weil. "The message won't be diluted by our having to yell over oil-company-funded 'scientists,' " he said.  Why are the advocates of man made global warming so frightened of debate?  How weak is the 'proof'?

According to Hollywood Today, the documentary is currently in production and scheduled for release sometime this year. Besides narrating, DiCaprio is also supposedly writing and producing the film.  Though it seems with no contradictory views, the movie will quickly be labeled as propaganda.

Perhaps the Weather Channel can air it in Dr. Heidi Cullen's spot.
