Marilyn Monroe Suicide Conspiracy Theory Includes Bobby Kennedy

Marilyn Monroe died at age 36 under what many still believe were very suspicious circumstances.  And now a three-page FBI reports suggests that Robert F. Kennedy, the late U.S. attorney-general and presidential candidate, was aware of a plan "to induce" the suicide of Marilyn Monroe, according to a story in the Sydney Morning Herald.

According to the report Monroe's apparent suicide could have been the result of an elaborate plot that tricked her into killing herself.  According to the Telegraph UK, a detailed three-page report is said to implicate members of Monroe's inner circle in the conspiracy "to induce" her suicide. These include her psychiatrist, publicist and housekeeper as well as her friend, the British-born Hollywood actor Peter Lawford.

The document, found by an Australian film-maker, Philippe Mora, in files released under freedom of information laws, also suggests Kennedy was aware of and possibly even involved in the scheme.

According to reports, allegations in the file suggest the legendary buxom actress, who had a history of staging sympathy-seeking suicide attempts, was deliberately given the means to fake another suicide on August 4, 1962. But this time -- it is suggested -- she was allowed to die as she sought help.

The document, reportedly uncovered by Los Angeles-based Australian writer and director, Philippe Mora, was included among thousands of pages released under freedom-of-information laws last October.

The file entitled "ROBERT F. KENNEDY” was received by the FBI on October 19, 1964 -- two years after star’s death.  It states: "Peter Lawford, [censored words blacked out] knew from Marilyn's friends that she was inclined to fake a suicide attempt in order to arouse sympathy."  According to the Herald report of the contents of the file: "Robert Kennedy made a telephone call from St Charles Hotel, San Francisco, to Peter Lawford to find out if Marilyn was dead yet."

The report does not detail the reason for the plan, but the document hints that it could have been motivated by Monroe's threats to make public their "romance and sex affair" after she realized Robert Kennedy had no intention of carrying out a promise to leave his wife.

The report details aspects of Kennedy's on-off affair with her, including sex parties and a lesbian involvement, says Mr. Mora.  It covers her fraught departure from 20th Century Fox, Kennedy's promise to "take care of everything" and the "unpleasant words" they exchanged when nothing happened.
