Rosie O'Donnell doesn't like the phrase, 'War on Terror.'  The host of an ABC show called 'The View' that is the brainchild of former respected journalist Barbara Walters apparently now will be setting policy for the Democratic Party.  According to a report from the Military Times, the House Armed Services Committee is banishing the 'global war on terror' from the 2008 defense budget.

Welcome to a politically correct war.  Democrats have said this is not political, not surprisingly Republicans disagree.  "This is a philosophical and political question," said a Republican aide. "Republicans generally believe that by fighting the war on terror in Iraq, we are preventing terrorists from spreading elsewhere and are keeping them engaged so they are not attacking us at home.”

The RNC pounced noting this from the report:  "Committee aides, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said dropping or reducing references to the global war on terror could have many purposes ... but also has a political element involving a disagreement over whether the war in Iraq is part of the effort to combat terrorism or is actually a distraction from fighting terrorists." (Rick Maze, "No More GWOT, House Committee Decrees," Military Times, 4/3/07)

E! Online noted just last week that Rosie said this about terrorists on 'The View':

"I think they've been dehumanized to the point where they're not people. They're just the enemy," O'Donnell said.  "They're terrorists. They have two choices, faith or fear. Faith or fear. That's your choice." You can walk through life believing in the goodness of the world or walk through life afraid of anyone who thinks differently than you and try to convert them to your way of thinking…Don't fear the terrorists. They're mothers and fathers."

Political or not, Democrats, yes I'm a Democrat, are perceived as weak on defense.  Siding with a conspiracy nut like Rosie O'Donnell won't help.  They would be wise to drop this campaign.
