Justin Timberlake Admits: Yes I Called Britney Spears

Justin Timberlake says he has had it with the tabloids.  They have reported that he had called Britney Spears while she was serving a stint at 'Promises' a rehab center in Malibu, California.  That led to a lot of fans and pundits speculating that the pair may be ready to get back together and a ton of entertainment media press for JT and his ex.  Now the 'SexyBack' singer admits - yes I called Britney.

According to a report from People Magazine Justin Timberlake was so concerned about Britney Spears, who entered rehab in February, that he reached out to her, he has revealed.

"I called her because I worried about her," Timberlake, 26, said recently at a press day for his new movie Shrek The Third. But Spears, who checked out of Malibu's Promises treatment center in March after nearly a month, is on the right track, Timberlake said.

"She's a great woman. I'm rooting for her," he said. "[It] seems like she's getting everything under control now."  That's the opposite of what he said in another interview.  According  to reports when asked about the split by British GQ, Timberlake tells the magazine, "Honestly, I am so far removed from that situation."

Timberlake's best friend, Trace Ayala, seconded that, saying, "She just isn't part of his life."  The item online notes: As for the rumor that Timberlake sent a veiled message to Spears while accepting a Brit Award for best international male solo artist in February, the singer is mystified.
