Anna Nicole Smith & Birkhead's Baby Broke: May Never Get Inheritance

While many folks believe that the baby of Anna Nicole Smith may soon be worth a half a billion dollars, others believe that not only is the little Dannielynn Hope broke, but Anna Nicole and Larry Birkhead's baby girl may already be in serious debt. Horace Cooper writes that there is little chance that this child will inherit millions.

Why? he writes: "Because Anna Nicole Smith’s legal claims on J. Howard Marshall’s estate were always tenuous. And once the courts act, they will likely extinguish the claim altogether. That means Dannielynn is more likely to be saddled with legal bills and other debt from litigation associated with her mother’s estate than she’s likely to inherit any portion of Marshall’s estate."

The assistant professor of law at George Mason University notes that a quick review of the case Marshall v. Marshall (Anna Nicole Smith’s married name was Vickie Lynn Marshall) illustrates why Dannielynn may not be a million-dollar baby.

The little infant's new father can make some money by selling his story, but he will likely have to move fast.  And he is already in debt as well, somewhere around a half million dollars according to published reports that were leaked to TMZ.Com.

Gawker cites an expert that believes that Birkhead can get about $5 million for his story.  Whoever wins the bidding war, the true winner will be Birkhead. As one person in the field puts it, "When you combine the TV and print deals, Birkhead will gross an easy $5 million."

Both the print and TV deals will undoubtedly continue to perpetuate the story line that Birkhead has been writing all along—that of the good Southern boy, the wronged baby daddy who just wanted to be with his little girl.

The item notes, "Let's not forget that Birkhead is a paparazzo—excuse me, "celebrity photographer"—who knows quite well how the game is played. As one in the celeb tabloid business put it, "Birkhead might look like the 'yes-ma'am'-in' Southern boy who 'really loved' Anna, but, let's face it, he knows this business just as well—if not a whole lot better—than the rest of the Anna Nicole dramatis personae. He knows what he's doing." And presumably, that means he'll be laughing all the way to the bank."

He may need it if the 'inheritance' never comes through for the baby.
