Back when Britney Spears was on what many would consider a downward spiral of way too much partying, many pointed to the sudden death of Anna Nicole Smith and hoped that would be a warning to Britney.  Her ex husband of fifty-five hours fame even mentioned it in a tell all interview about Britney to the British press.  Now things may have come full circle as Anna Nicole had often obsessed over her infatuation with Marilyn Monroe and now Brit may perform a duet with her.

Wait - what?  In what sounds like a sad and desperate gimmick a report claims that Britney Spears plans to re-launch her career by singing a duet with Norm Jean.

Lance Bass, formerly a member of *NSYNC, has acquired the rights to an unreleased song by Monroe and is of the opinion that it would be perfect for her.

"Lance wants Britney to sing with Marilyn on the track, like Natalie Cole did on Unforgettable with her dad Nat King Cole," a source told a British newspaper. Britney will reportedly dress like Monroe - including the wig - on the video clip.

Despite being considered one of the most successful women of her era Marilyn Monroe died of a drug overdose in 1962 aged 36. After her recent stint in rehabilitation Britney is reportedly working to regain her figure for an October album launch.

Heather Adler of Dose.Ca adds, "Spears will reportedly cover her bald scull with a platinum Marilyn-style wig and dress like the infamous sex symbol for the video. No word on if images of Monroe rolling over in her grave will be included."
