Paris Hilton has been shunned by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. But she may be welcomed by another high profile politician.  Schwarzenegger said that he was too busy for Paris but a sheriff in Arizona says he would love to help Paris out.  Paris Hilton meet Joe Arpaio.  He has been dubbed America's toughest sheriff runs an outdoor jail in Arizona dubbed tent city.

It is a stripped down jail where inmates are housed in actual military type tents in downtown Phoenix where the temperatures can easily hit 110 degrees and higher in June and July.  Paris Hilton is scheduled to begin her sentence on June 5th.  KTVK Channel 3 is reporting that the heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune may be headed to that very Maricopa County jail.

Because of some serious overcrowding in Los Angeles, there are concerns that Hilton may not serve all of the 45 days that she has been sentenced to – and she may be shipped to Arizona for her entire sentence.

The television station claims that Arpaio says he's spoken to the chief of jails in Los Angeles offering to house Hilton at Tent City.   Arpaio loves publicity and this would be a move he would push for, though it's still unclear if Paris would be able to do he time in Arizona.  Inmates at tent city wear old time prison garb, including stripes.  They sometimes work on chain gangs picking up trash on the side of the road in sweltering heat.

And according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff is considering the proposal.  Good luck Paris.
