Britney Spears series of ten minute shows are on hiatus. She's back in Los Angeles looking toned and ready, will she return to the stage in front of 30 million American Idol viewers? That's one buzz rumor from photo agency X17 Online. Can the 4000 seat Kodak Theater take on American Idol Jordin Sparks or Blake Lewis, Britney Spears and all of the other idol winners? We may find out.

X17 has this blurb: "Let's address those rumors of Britney supposedly making a surprise appearance on "American Idol" tonight - we don't know if it's true or not." The tease is on. But one would guess Britney would have to sing instead of lip synch so I'm putting this in the long, long shot category.

It will be a star studded affair though as there are plenty of stars on deck. AOL's entertainment webs site TMZ.Com is reporting that Kelly Clarkson -- and all winners from seasons past, except Fantasia -- will be back performing on the "American Idol" stage for tonight's finale.
Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks are headed to the Kodak Theater, but Fantasia Barrino won't be, since she is headlining Oprah Winfrey's production of "The Color Purple" on Broadway. A well-placed source tells TMZ that anti-establishment rockers Green Day sold out and will be on the "American "Idol" finale too!

More: Beat-boxing finalist Blake Lewis will show off his mad skills against rapper Doug E. Fresh, and then duet with fellow finalist and probable winner, Jordin Sparks, to the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There." Since producers were able to finally get clearance to use Beatles music, a medley of Fab Four hits will be performed as well.
