Illegal Immigrant Backlash: Miss USA Rachel Smith Heckled, Booed

The Mexico audience at the Miss Universe competition was not kind to Miss USA Rachel Smith as they actually booed the Tennessee beauty.  Hostess Vanessa Minillo finally had to step in and ask the audience to pleas take a minute and allow her to answer the question.  It was a sad display by the audience, but despite the rude crowd, she finished as fourth-runner up to the crown.

Reports claim that the controversy of the Mexicans booing Smith in the run-up to the finals was because of the "U.S. unfriendliness toward illegal immigrants."  That's an outrage!

There are approximately 20 million illegal aliens from Mexico now living in the United States.   American politicians in Washington are desperately working on a bill to provide amnesty to those in the US illegally now.  Shocking - that must not be good enough for the audience members.

Smith was vying to become the first American winner since Brook Lee in 1997.  From Tennessee, the journalism graduate carried a guitar and wore a white, Elvis-style suit during the opening parade of nations.  Her dramatic slip on stage was regarded as near fatal by local experts who said judges valued highly contestants who retained their style and grace on the set.
