The drama all came from Angelina and Brad and once the smoke cleared the movie was a box office bomb. Is Jolie now box office poison? A document was produced during the promotion of the film that demanded reporters not talk about Jolie's personal life and that they present Jolie only in a positive light. Roger Friedman reported that she tried to ban Fox news from the Gotham premiere.
Another report claimed that she banned Us Weekly from the premiere as well. Jolie only went on NBC and CNN to promote the film with an odd appearance on Comedy central as well. None of it worked. American tuhed Jolie out for her second film in a row.

Us Weekly notes that it pulled in only $4 million this weekend, coming in tenth place behind such films as Evan Almighty, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Ocean's Thirteen, Surf's Up and Nancy Drew. A poll here asks, "Why didn't you see A Mighty Heart?"
