From a spunky blonde in High School Musical to sharp witted fair haired sweetie in Legally Blonde? There are whispers that Ashley Tisdale is set to challenge for the role made famous by Reese Witherspoon. A report claims that Tisdale, the 22-year old budding star, will be considered to replace Reese Witherspoon as everyone's favorite blonde genius Elle Woods. Jason Weiss, VP of MGM’s DVD division announced.

The Snag Wire quotes the suit: "Ashley is clearly a huge talent and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with her on this movie. She has built an incredible following and has become an icon for today's teen audience."

No question. But would she be big enough for this role and would it be the right move? Legally Blonde seems to have pretty much run its course and it seems like the smart thing for Tisdale would be to begin to look for secondary roles in large big-budget films and then make her move.
