There has already been loads of speculation that Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky may have a secret romance off screen and now there are whispers that the Vanessa Hudgens nude photos may drive the handsome High School Musical and hairspray hunk towards his "Hairspray" co-star Nikki. Last month an insider told Star magazine that "As crazy as it sounds, Zac is completely taken with Nikki."

Now with the wild media coverage of Vanessa thanks to a whole bunch of racy pictures that are floating all over the Internet, that speculation is again being tossed about. For his part, Zac Efron admits that Hairspray co-star Nikki Blonsky is his best friend in an interview with Aussie cinema site YourMovies.

An insider dished this to Star Magazine earlier on Zac and Nikki: "Zac said they've made out," says the source. "And that Nikki's a great kisser. He also thinks she's very sexy and admits he doesn't even notice she's carrying a few extra pounds. Zac and Vanessa used to argue a lot," the chatty insider told the weekly entertainment magazine in August.

"(Zac and Vanessa) were jealous of each other. But Zac says Nikki is totally understanding and accepting of his popularity and isn't threatened by it." Whoa - won't they have a lot to talk about now that Vanessa is getting way more buzz then Zac!

And as Just Jared Notes, Nikki and Zac are the kind of best friends that apparently kiss each other on the lips on live TV too! JJ reports that when asked if their onscreen chemistry is a little bit real, Zac answered, "Well, there’s no one better to work with. We honestly became best friends."

Are they friends with benefits or is it headed in that direction? Nikki told the Australian publication, “[We’re] just one big happy Hairspray family.”

After Zac laid an open mouthed kiss on Nikki at Canadian TV’s MuchMusic to promote the film version of the Broadway musical he said, "I’m in so much trouble," exclaimed Zac, wiping his mouth after the mini-make-out session.
