What does it take to take a long hard look at one of country music's hottest female stars if you are a Hollywood bachelor?  Apparently just an opening.  According to an item in the National Enquirer guys are moving in on former "American Idol" beauty Carrie Underwood now that she and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tomy Romo have called it quits.

Emmy winner "Entourage" star Jeremy Piven made his move according to sources cited by the weekly entertainment magazine.  The magazine claims that despite being nearly twice her age, the 42-year-old attempted to put the moves on the 24-year-old country music star at the Conde Nast's Fashion Rocks concert in New York on Sept 6, a source told The Enquirer.

Jeremy – who hosted the show – was overheard backstage asking whether Carrie was single.  "I heard him ask one person who was with Carrie: 'Does she have a husband at home?"  Doh!  "It seemed Jeremy picked the wrong person to ask.  The person with Carrie shot back: 'No, but she's only 24.  You're too old for her!'" Among other things.

But insiders dished that one man may have at least had a little success.  Actor Antonio Sabato Jr then beat Jeremy to the punch when he walked over to Carrie's table and introduced himself before Jeremy could make his move, said the insider. "They kept talking all night, while Jeremy sat at his table and sulked."

Cue the rep™: Piven's publicist denied the star was attempting a hookup with Carrie.
