Nick Nolte is a dad. The Hollywood actor has become father to a baby daughter at the age of 66. The screen star and his long-term partner Clytie Lane, 38, have yet to name their first child, according to his spokesman Paul Bloch. The infant, weighing in at 7 pounds and 13 ounces, was born last Wednesday in Los Angeles, and "both mother and daughter are doing well," according to a statement on from the actor's publicist.

The baby girl is the first child for Lane, who is believed to be in her late 30s and is not in show business, and the second for Nolte, who has a 21-year-old son, Brawley, from the last of his three previous marriages. The actor first met the British fitness instructor when she came to his home to teach him Pilates.

The two-time Oscar nominee is to voice a role in The Spiderwick Chronicles, and is currently working on Tropic Thunder, directed by Ben Stiller. The troubled star, who has a history of alcohol and drug problems, caused a stir in July when he passed out at Hawaii's Kauai Airport.
He was described at the time as "dripping in sweat and barely able to keep his bloodshot eyes open". Nick can next be seen in The Mysteries of Pittsburgh alongside Jodie Foster and Sienna Miller, and is currently filming the Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder with Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr.
