The third season of MTV's hit show The Hills has been plagued by one controversy after another, each alleging that the show is no real. From forced fights and fake jobs to a quick-change manicure, lately everything in Lauren Conrad's life has been called into question. In Touch Weekly reports that's why Lauren, 21, sat down with the weekly entertaiment magazine to set the record straight regarding the rumors that her reality show is anything but real.

"We're not trying to be The Real World. The whole idea is that they make it look like a scripted drama," she tells In Touch. "But there's no script. Every decision you see us make on the show is out own," she adds.

"If the producers were writing a script for the show, I wouldn't have missed my trip to Paris. I never would have dated Jason, and Heidi and I would have made up by now!" Lauren enjoys being herself. "I don't act," she tells In Touch. "If I wanted to be an actress, I'd go on a scripted show and make a lot more money."
The Talk is True – The conversations aren't contrived she says. "If the cameras haven't arrived yet the morning after a night out, we don't talk," Lauren says. "Audrina [Patridge] and I will be having breakfast and I'll say, 'I really want to ask you about last night.' And she'll be like, 'I really want to tell you, but let’s just wait.'"
