Jessica Simpson Turns to Dane Cook?

Much was made about Jessica Simpson's close call with ex hubby Nick Lachey at the LA night club Hyde.  Jessica was with friends and Nick was with his new gal Vanessa Minnillo.  A tad awkward was the way Susan Hatch put it.

But as Jessica publicly states she's still not dating, Jeannette Walls of MSNBC writes that Jess has been making time at the same Hollywood nightspot with her rumored new guy, comedian Dane Cook. 

According to the report - Jess and Dane were at Hyde a week earlier looking cozy.

Walls notes that the newly divorced Simpson recently claimed she doesn’t “feel right about dating yet.  But that didn't stop her from reportedly “making out” with her “Employee of the Month” co-star Cook on July 11 at the L.A. club Hyde, according to the column.

“They spent most of the night hugging and making out,” an “eyewitness” tells the upcoming issue of Star magazine. “He had his arm draped over the back of her chair — and every so often they kissed on the lips.”

The pair took a break from smooching at 12:30 a.m. and Cook went next door to perform at the Laugh Factory - and Simpson followed just a few minutes after, reports the tab.

Cook is said to have a girlfriend in Valli Girls singer Raquel Houghton, but he and Simpson reportedly “looked very affectionate and comfortable with each other,” Walls reports.

It's good to hear that Dane at least knew to take a break from the occasional kiss and hand holding to do a set.  Will Dane be the first real boyfriend Jess turns to post-Nick?
