Christie Brinkley was arguably the one of the first supermodels, and certainly the most likeable.  With a big friendly smile and real woman curves, she is the kind of woman that men want to be with and women want to be.

So many of us were shocked to learn that Christie was separating from Peter Cook after learning that he was cheating on her with a woman who was 18 at the time the affair started.  Cheating on Christie Brinkley?  What hope do the rest of us have?

Although Christie Brinkley seems to have led a charmed life as a leading supermodel, but she has not been as lucky with her relationships.  Her first marriage when she was 21 to French artist Jean Francois Allaux lasted only eight years, after which she became involved with Olivier Chandon de Brailles, heir to the Moet-Chandon champagne fortune who was killed in a motorcycle accident. 

Shortly thereafter she became involved with Billy Joel, whom she married in 1985.  After she and Joel divorced in 1994, she quickly remarried real estate developer Richard Taubman, who she met in a skiing accident.  Divorcing him the next year, she was shortly married again to architect Peter Cook.

Christie's astrological chart shows that her Aquarius Sun is conjunct Venus, bestowing beauty and good fortune.  However, both are squared by Saturn, the planet of insecurity and self-doubt.  Beautiful women in general, and models in particular learn to see their value in terms of their beauty.  Men may be attracted to them more out of fantasy then from a genuine attraction to the person, something that isn't always evident in the first six months of a relationship.  A quick marriage can therefore lead to a quick divorce as the fantasy bumps up against the reality.
 
Christie's birthchart chart shows that she has a deep insecurity (with Saturn in challenging aspect to her Sun and Venus) and her jumping from one marriage to another keeps her from having to build a sense of inner strength.  Over the past year Christie has been having a difficult challenge from Pluto affecting Mars in her chart, showing that she has been blocked (Pluto) from being able to accomplish that which she desires.  Perhaps she was trying to move forward in her career and being blocked, or perhaps she wanted to have another child and that turned out to be not possible.

In any event, the current situation seems bleak for her, but she is in the middle of a series of transits of lucky Jupiter, something that often happens during a breakup of a relationship.  When we find these Jupiter cycles during a breakup, it often is a type of liberation.  This is something that is not always recognizable during the event, but we later look back and thank the stars for freeing us from that situation.
 
I have always liked Christie Brinkley, and I hope that she will take this opportunity to spend some time alone really getting to know herself.
