Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey are on the stump.   The Big O brought her considerable celebrity buzz out on the campaign trail and hit hard at African Americans, even bringing back the great Martin Luther King at one point. "Dr. King dreamed a dream. But we don't have to just dream the dream anymore," Winfrey said. "We get to vote that dream into reality."

In her 17-minute speech at the University of South Carolina's football stadium, Winfrey, 53, also blasted critics who have said Obama does not have enough experience, the Associated Press reported.

"There are those who say it's not his time, that he should wait his turn," she said. "Think about where you'd be in your life if you'd waited when people told you to."  Referring to the state's Democratic primary date, she said, "South Carolina — January 26th is your moment."

She capped off her three-state tour Sunday night at a stop in Manchester, New Hampshire.  After two days of campaigning, Winfrey said she had overcome her initial nervousness, the AP reported.  "I'm beginning to like this," she said. "I'm beginning to like this because I can feel that you are ready for change."

A McClatchy-MSNBC poll released Sunday has Barack in a statistical tie for the lead with the Clinton in South Carolina. The New York senator had 28 percent and Obama 25 percent among likely Democratic primary voters. A key factor has been a swing to Obama among the state's African-Americans, whom the poll showed support the Illinois senator 37 percent versus 21 percent for Clinton.

Us Weekly magazine has a video of the speech.
