The NFL football season often comes down to the wire when it comes to playoff scenarios but this season many teams are already toast and have no shot at the playoffs. In the AFC nine teams have already been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and will finish the season jockeying for jobs and draft picks.
Romo vs. Brady for Super Bowl?
In the NFC, the defending conference champion Chicago Bears are already out along with six other teams. Still the remaining games have a lot of meaning as the New England Patriots try to close out a perfect season. Right now they are 14-0 and have clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

They have some tough competition as after a bit of a mid-season slump, the Indianapolis Colts appear to back on track and are 12-2. Pittsburgh and Jacksonville are both very dangerous teams as well. The AFC is loaded.
The NFC seems like more of a two-team race as both the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are 12-2 and the Cowboys have the tie-breaker as they have already defeated the Pack at Texas Stadium this year. The Patriots are heavy favorites to win the Super Bowl, and Vegas oddsmakers have them taking on the Cowboys. But as this is the NFL nothing is guaranteed as there are some very tough scenarios for the perfect Pats and the Cowboys face a tough road as well.
