Ron Paul finally got into a Fox debate and the good doctor was beat up on a bit but he also certainly got his own shots in. Paul took on nearly everyone on the stage at some point and he even took some heat from Fox commentator Brit Hume. I think tonight showed that when provoked, Ron Paul can raise that squeaky voice and take on his critics. Now many that already support Paul will claim that he won the debate and in their minds he certainly did.
Beating Up on Ron Paul: The Fox News Debate
No one else will, but they will love his performance. Paul's answers tonight were genuinely what he believes and what some of his big time fans believe. Unfortunately it appears that Fox news gave Ron Paul just enough rope to hang himself. He'll never get even close of a majority of Americans to buy what he is selling.

That was one horrific performance for the mainstream voters that were taking this in. Now I don't believe Paul should move off his positions, but he certainly is now at his limit of support. He will again have a poor showing in South Carolina (as he did in Iowa and in New Hampshire) and he certainly isn't going to be able to put together a coalition of voters that will ever let him even come close to swinging the Republican Party towards his Libertarian ways.
Ron Paul will win every text poll that is available for this debate. I'm guessing his money will roll in from his supporters. But he will lose big in South Carolina and pretty much everywhere else. But it was good that Dr. Paul was included, could you have imagined how much fun it would have been if they had shoved him in that little room in New Hampshire?
