Are they space suits, or are they sexy or just weird looking high-tech PJ's? Travelodge plans to test experimental Dermasilk Pajamas that are designed to increase the comfort of guests at locations in Britain. The pajamas, made from Dermasilk, were developed after a Travelodge survey of 3,000 adults found 23 percent of respondents were kept awake at night by itchy sleepwear, The Daily Telegraph reported this week.

The survey also found 66 percent of those polled were kept awake by temperature-related concerns, with 54 percent complaining of heat and 35 percent complaining of cold.

According to a statement by Travelodge, the Dermasilk sleep suit "allows the skin to breathe, regulates body temperature (in hot and cold conditions) and maintains the skin's moisture balance." The Dermasilk is made from natural knitted silk, which the hotel chain claims controls body odor and is good for people who may suffer from skin disorders such as eczema and dermatitis, since it reduces the symptoms of itching and scratching.
Travelodge said the new pajamas are scheduled for a test run at hotels in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburg.
