Country music star Sara Evans has become engaged to her boyfriend of six months – football star Jay Barker – and the couple plans to marry in June, a report from the National Enquirer claims in the magazine this week. After a vicious breakup with ex-husband Craig Schelske in 2006, the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant thought she’d never find love again.

But with her divorce final in 2007, 37-year-old Sara managed to quickly pick up the pieces of her life thanks to Jay, a former University of Alabama quarterback who now hosts a sports radio talk show.

"Sara and Jay have been together since last year, and she truly feels she’s found the man of her dreams," and insider told the Enquirer in this week's edition that is on newsstands now. "Sara had a terrible time with Craig – their divorce got so bad that at times they couldn’t stand to look at each other. But it’s over now and she’s ready to move on."

The insider says Jay is “crazy” about Sara’s three kids, and she feels he’ll make the perfect stepfather. The magazine reports that Jay, 35, is also on the rebound after having gone through a divorce from his wife of 14 years last summer. Sara hopes that now that the dust has settled from her divorce, she and her children will find some peace and happiness with Jay,” added the insider.
