Kids as young as six are stepping into the ring and the "Ultimate Fighting Kids" are going at it UFC style in Carthage, Missouri and that has brought fire from critics and will likely and unfairly unleash another black eye for the UFC. It should be noted that the UFC has absolutely nothing to do with the kids fights in the Show-Me-State, and they have made great efforts in advancing their sport but no matter, they will be hammered with this new report.

The Garage Boys Studio in Carthage, Missouri is readily training the little tykes to do battle Mixed Martial Arts style and though they say there is no blood, it will eventually develop into bloody matches for kids. How can it not?

Some of these kids spend time watching the UFC on television and of course just like kids that watch baseball players and football players they want to grow up and be champions so they figure the sooner they start training the better. The matches are supervised but if you believe that will tone down critics, you can forget it. Wait until the first video hits YouTube of some little eight-year old boy with a cut that is pouring blood down his face and on to the canvas.
There are several more links to photos here from the matches. Here's a taste of what critics will use. "I think it's dangerous from a physical standpoint," Dr. Lisa Thorton, a pediatrician with the University of Chicago Hospitals told Good Morning America. "It can make significant injuries to the neck and bones, and if they're being taught that fighting is a way to solve problems that is obviously very negative for any child."
