It's a bit of a leap to believe that it is but the magazine claims that it broke the very first man-to-mom story exclusively in 1982 and can now reveal how that twisted tale ended in disaster. Beatie, of Bend, Oregon, made headlines around the world when he declared in an interview he was five months pregnant and well on his way to becoming a real Mr. Mom.
But the first recorded case of transgender male motherhood ended very badly, The Enquirer reports that it has learned. The story notes that way back in June of 1982, the magazine detailed how Jason Cope a 26-year-old construction worker gave birth to a healthy 8-pound, 9½ ounce baby girl.

They claim that the story was confirmed by the doctor who delivered the child. And the magazine reports that it has learned exclusively that Jason descended into a pit of mental instability until he decided to kill himself nearly 18 years later.
In a horrific twist they note that he would die three months later after an agonizing hospital sat after he put a 9mm to his head and pulled the trigger. There is some happiness in the story, the beautiful daughter he delivered survived the horror and is now a successful mom. See a larger photo of the pregnant man here.
