The Wii console is a hit from very young kids to people in active retirement communities.  It is low impact exercise that has many people up off the couch and bowling, playing golf, swig a baseball bat, boxing and playing tennis.  While it is not as intense as the real thing, it has people moving and that is a good thing.

Now the latest is out and Wii Fit promises to do even more. According to Joy Stiq, "Wii Fit uses a unique platform peripheral called the Wii Balance Board that can measure a user's weight and their center of gravity, and calculate their body mass index when told the user's height." The game has about 40 different activities, including yoga poses, push ups, step aerobics, goalie defense and dance.

There are many other exercises designed to keep you moving as well.  The game is a huge hit in Japan and has already made a splash in the UK over the weekend. Wii finally has a North American release date now as well and it is May 19.  The cost is said to be $89.95 in the US.  How popular will Wii Fit be in America?  If it is anything like all of the other Wii games it will fly off the shelves.
