About 32 visitors were in the lagoon Saturday afternoon when the dolphins swam into the deeper center and leaped from the water, Discovery Cove spokeswoman Becca Bides said.

A 30-year-old female dolphin named Sharky was killed, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported. Sharky had previously executed the trick on dozens of occasions, officials said. Her body is going to be donated for research at SeaWorld, WKMG reported.  The upset trainers said the incident has prompted a complete review of their dolphin training protocols, reports the Associated Press.

It was the first accidental death of a dolphin since the park opened eight years ago. The park is located across from SeaWorld, Discovery Cove offers visitors the opportunity to swim with dolphins, rays and tropical fish.

The new video is here.  Guests were gathered along the perimeter about 50 feet away in hip-deep water when the dolphins collided in the center, which is about 9 feet deep.
