There will be no more beautiful music for Liv Tyler, 30, and musician husband Royston Langdon, 36. On May 4, a rep for the actress confirmed the low-profile couple — who began dating in 1998 and have a 3-year-old son, Milo — had separated, five years after getting married in a private villa in the Caribbean.

Now more details of the sad split are coming to light and a new report from us Weekly magazine has all of the details. What went wrong? A source cited by the magazine blames the end of their relationship on the rocker’s career, floundering since the breakup of his band Spacehog a few years ago; his last group, Arckid, split two months ago.

"His career has gone downhill, and Liv wasn’t cool with it,” the insider says. The Incredible Hulk star — who said in 2006, “When I watch my husband on stage, I fall in love with him all over again” — “started thinking he was a loser. His ego is bruised,” according to the pal, cited in the article.
Things got so strained, a source on the set of Tyler’s upcoming film The Strangers told the weekly entertainment and news magazine that Langdon was MIA during her 2006 South Carolina shoot. “She never spoke of him,” the source says. “They went south a long time ago.”

The mag notes that they were the first to report that weeks earlier, a witness overheard her seeking advice from a lawyer and complaining “about her husband being a leech on her assets.” Cue the rep™: "They remain good friends and devoted parents to their son, a spokesperson said.
Though the pair remain based in New York City, Tyler currently resides in a West Village pad, while Langdon was recently spotted scouting places in Brooklyn. “They want to be civil so it’s easy on Milo,” says a pal, adding, “They fell out of love.”
