It is an unthinkable crime. A man basically stomped his 2-year-old son to death on a country road outside Turlock, California and when he was questioned by those passing by he calmly told motorists who stopped at the scene that he had to "get the demons out" of the child, a witness to the horrific crime said.

According to a report from the Associated Press, at one point, witnesses saw Aguilar, who had no criminal record or history of mental illness, bash the toddler to the pavement like a doll, and then stomp on him, authorities said.

Police were called in and a Modesto police officer shot the man to death Saturday night. But it was too late for the little boy who was treated like a rag doll and beaten to death by the man. The man would later be identified as Sergio Casian Aguilar. Police arrived on the scene to try and get him to stop, but he calmly continued to stomp the little child.

A video from the Los Angeles Times newspaper is here and after the officer shot and killed Aguilar the toddler was rushed to the hospital but it was too late to save the child. Police say he had no criminal record or known mental health issues before the murder.
