Hollywood gay weddings are ready for the plunge. Star Trek actor George Takei has become one of the first gay men in California to obtain a marriage license and he is thrilled. And don't forget we can expect a great A-list lesbian wedding with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her sexy partner and actress Portia de Rossi.

Takei plunked down his $70.00 for a marriage license earlier this week and was jubilant, saying "It's going to be the only day like this in our lives and it is the only day like this in the history of America." he will marry long time partner 54-year-old Brad Altman on September 14 in Los Angeles.

The really monster wedding will be Ellen Degeneres and her longtime girlfriend, Portia de Rossi this summer and they might not have a prenuptial agreement. Now that gay marriages are legal in California (Monday at 5p.m. local time) the pair are busy planning a dream summer wedding. And the couple will tie the knot without a prenuptial agreement, according to Star Magazine.

An Ellen pal says it's because the comedienne, 50, feels secure that her marriage to the 15 years younger Portia will last. Ellen "also finds prenups unromantic," adds the friend.
